Ich bin zwar noch nie gefragt worden...
... aber interessant finde ich das trotzdem. Vielleicht sollte man wegen PPT mal bei MS nachfragen?

MS: Erklärung des Namens "PowerPoint"
Hallo, hier die Erklärung von Microsoft: I understand from your e-mail that you wish to know information on from where the name PowerPoint came. I realize the importance of this issue and look forward to assist you today. The idea for PowerPoint came from the mind of Bob Gaskins, a former Berkeley Ph.D. student who realized that the coming age of graphics interfaces could revolutionize the design and creation of presentation materials. In 1984, Gaskins joined a failing Silicon Valley software firm called Forethought and hired a software developer, Dennis Austin. Bob and Dennis refined the vision and designed "Presenter" to implement it. Dennis created the original version of the program with Tom Rudkin. Bob later suggested the new name "PowerPoint" which finally became the product name. I hope the information provided above is helpful. However, if you have any other issues related to Microsoft, please contact us. I will be glad to assist you. Thank you for using Microsoft Products and Services. auf den Punkt gebracht...
Hallo!
