- On his 13th birthday he had got (war: got) a camera. This camera was (war: is) now lying on the shelf of his room in the guest house. / The sun had set (war: The sun was away) - It was dark (war: It was night - sehr clumsy, besser wäre "Night had fallen") Entsprechend habe ich die einzusetzenden Wörter angepasst.

many thanks! I can use this next week in my class.
One of the mistakes already mentioned in the other comments still needs to be fixed: You still have "Ben Navis" instead of "Ben Nevis" in three places. I also have two other suggestions for improvements: In the story you mention "100 metres", but in the exercise you write of "miles", which of course is a different system of units. You could fix that by replacing "metres" with "yards" in the story. And the last sentence of the story should read "hadn't seen the guest house" (instead of "didn't see"). And finally, you have the apostrophe in the wrong place in the word "couldn't" (7 lines from the end of the story). Otherwise, the story is great, thank you for posting it!
