Ich hätte dieses Gedicht
lieber unter Netter Unsinn hochgeladen, doch denke ich, dass die Kollegen wissen, was sie tun und wo sie es tun.;-)

Three different versions of the serenity prayer
God give me the serenity to accept things which cannot be changed; Give me courage to change things which must be changed; And the wisdom to distinguish one from the other. God grant me strength to change the things I can / The serenity to accept the things I can change and wisdom to know the difference. God & Goddess grant me: The power of water, to accept with ease & grace what I cannot change The power of fire, for the energy & courage to change the things I can. The power of Air, for the ability to know the difference. And the power of Earth, for the strength to continue my path.

And by the way
I wouldn't use the article with serenity, courage and wisdom. ....and there is a slip in serenity (with one "t" only) But the poem itself is great. Thank you Alex ;-)

Okay,
even though mistakes are our friends, I eliminated the slip in serenity - I hope you will be happy, Alex. This is an Easter egg from your Easter Bunny kfmaas

@kfmaas concerning the definite article
If you use "serenity", "courage", "wisdom" in general there is no article, but as these terms are specified by words following (e.g. the serenity to accept the things I cannot change) one has to use the definite article. Another example: We learn from history that we do not learn anything from history at all. At school our pupils learn a lot about the history of Europe but only very little about the history of America. *withverysympatheticeyes*

Toll!
Find ich echt zum Brüllen! Total lustig! Kann man bestimmt super in höheren Klassen einsetzen (eventuell im Vergleich zum Ausgangstext)

Zum ersten Mal stelle ich mir hier die Frage: "Wer bin ich, dass ich das kommentieren darf?"

Hilarious!
funny funny funny ! I think it's a great poem for higher grades. As I'm an advocate of also teaching colloquial English (let's face it: it's more interesting for our students), I would absolutely recommend readsing it in class.
