mir ist nicht ganz klar
warum auf die Frage "you do what" dann eine progressive form kommt (visiting ..., eating... ). Würde man doch auch nicht mit der progressive form auf eine Karte schreiben: "I'm in Paris with my mother, we are visiting the Eiffel Tower, eating ice-cream and having the fun of our lives in the Moulin Rouge..."

das ist keine
present progressive form, sondern das present participle. "I did some visiting, shopping etc." Eine solche Formulierung wäre möglich.
